Bob Dolan of Winter Springs was given an opportunity by the Ole General Store to transform two small limbs from the Senator tree to live again in a new form.

The smaller three quarter-inch bore flute is tuned to the pentatonic key of A flat. The tree’s natural bark, branch ends and bends were left in the wood. It was inlayed with abalone shell in both the body and the bird of the flute. It has a wonderful song when played.

The larger one-inch bore flute is tuned to the pentatonic key of C. The burn marks and checking in the wood was left intact. Bob incorporated the mouthpiece in one end. Some of the cracks on the body and the bird of the flute are inlayed with fuschite (green in color). This flute has a deep and haunting song when played.

Both flutes are sealed with ten to twelve coats of a food grade finish and took approximately 40 days each to construct.
